Letter to Yogis
THE PERFECT PLACE TO RETREAT
We are delighted to be hosting you at Amansala for your upcoming retreat and are sharing with you some helpful information.
There will be an orientation either the night you arrive, or the following morning to go over all the details of the hotel, however, the most important questions are answered here, below.
WHERE WILL I FIND THE DRIVER?
A driver will hold an Amansala sign at the airport as you exit. The cost of transportation is based on the number of people traveling together. Missed or delayed flights may affect your rate.
● Private Car: US $195
● Ground Transportation 2 people – $100 per person
● Ground Transportation 3 people – $80 per person
● Ground Transportation 4 people – $65 per person
● Ground Transportation 5 people – $55 per person
● Ground Transportation 6 – 8 people – $45 per person
It takes about 80 minutes to get from the airport to your home at Amansala Tulum Beach, and from the Tulum Airport, it takes about 45 minutes. At present, there is an airport tax for drivers, which makes the cost the same as in Cancun. However, the airport has less hustle and bustle, a more scenic ride, and, most importantly, fewer lines.
CHECK IN IS 3:00 PM
If you arrive earlier and your room is ready, we will immediately bring you to your room. If it is not prepared, we will give you a place to change and store your things.
Check-out is at noon. If your departure time is later in the day, we ask you to have your things packed up by 12:00PM. You are welcome to enjoy the beach and restaurant. There are bathrooms and showers for your use.
HOW DO THE MEALS WORK.
In the morning, brewed coffee and tea are served at no cost. Every meal is served with a delicious chilled tea infusion or flavored water of the day.
All meals are included, except for one offsite dinner that your teacher may choose to organize, or you may venture off on your own to try one of Tulum’s many excellent local beach restaurants.
Lunch on arrival day is NOT included; however, we have a special lunch & fresh drink available for $15 should you arrive for lunch. There will be one dinner that is not included, which is a night to go out and explore Tulum a bit.
Q. Are specialty coffee, juices, smoothies, and alcohol available?
Smoothies, juices, other drinks, espresso margaritas, wine, and beer can be ordered at any time, placed on your bill, and taken care of at checkout.
Q. Is outside alcohol and food allowed at Amansala?
We do not allow outside alcohol or food. If you have a special occasion and have a bottle, please ask at the restaurant, and there will be a $25 corkage fee. We ask you not to leave food in your room that is not sealed, as it can attract the local wildlife.
EXTRAS
Q. How do I pay for any extras?
Each guest, even if sharing a room, will have their own individual tabs, and any extra charges will be placed on your room for the guest. These can be paid for at check-out with a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or cash.
Q. Do we charge tax?
Yes, all charges incurred at the hotel are subject to 16% and all individual bills must be settled at check-out. All incidents are signed to your room and paid for by credit card at the end, although it is recommended to bring cash for tips.
WHAT PROPS DO YOU HAVE.
We do provide yoga mats, blocks and straps, but you are welcome to bring your own as well.
We ask that you please clean your mat when you finish your practice we provide a solution made with lavender, tee tree and a cloth wipe down your mat. `
Q. Do you have a gym?

Are there ATMs? Most restaurants and stores will take US dollars, but you will not get the best exchange rate. Most places will NOT take Credit Cards. Cash is best, and there are several ATM machines located in Tulum by international banks. We do not recommend using the smaller ATMs not associated with an official bank.
Q. Are tips included?
There is a base gratuity your teacher has collected from you, which is $25 per person for your retreat and meals. For anything purchased outside of the retreat, gratuity has not been included and is at your discretion. If you feel the staff merits a little extra, that is up to you, and at your discretion
